La Costiera Amalfitana

The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coast of about 50 km, located on the cliffs overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and famous throughout the world for its natural beauty. Its name originates from the town of Amalfi, ancient Maritime Republic, not only geographically, but even historically the main place of the whole Coast.

In addition to Amalfi the most visited areas of the province definitely include Positano, a small town resting on the rock, crossed by narrow streets and steps that draw its organization, with a predominant Eastern architecture, especially for homes with vaulted roofs. Other tourist sites that worth a visit are the Conca dei Marini, Maiori, Minori, Praiano, Ravello and Vietri sul Mare. The places of the Amalfi Coast are known throughout the world for the ancient tradition of pottery.

The Amalfi Coast is easily accessible from Vico Equense by car or scooter. Alternatively reach the station of Sorrento for the trains of the Circumvesuviana, from here frequent public buses reach Amalfi.
